Enhancing the optical properties of chitosan, carboxymethyl cellulose, sodium alginate modified with nano metal oxide and graphene oxide

The solution casting method was utilized to synthesize nanocomposite films of chitosan (Cs)/CuO, Cs/graphene oxide (GO), carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC)/TiO2, CMC/GO, sodium alginate (Na-Alg)/TiO2, and Na-Alg/GO owing their various applications. influence CuO, TiO2 GO concentration on the optical properties Cs, CMC Na-Alg studied by UV-Vis Spectroscopy. absorbance increased with increasing filler's content, thus reflecting dependence CMC, nanofiller's confirming interactions between individual polymers nanoparticles. obtained values were then used calculate absorption coefficient and, hence, band gap values. characteristic bands CuO underwent a redshift content. results showed that decreased they possessed 1, 2 gaps respectively. recommended nanocomposites can be in optoelectronic devices.
